Hatha Yoga is a contemporary method of practice where each Asana (position) transitions seamlessly into the next, akin to a dance. This style is accessible to individuals at all levels, from novices to advanced practitioners. Hatha Flow encompasses various aspects of physical wellness, including strength training, breath-work, and the stretching of muscles and ligaments. Movements are taught and performed within the capacity of each individual’s body.
During the session, “The Flow” incrementally increases in both physical and mental intensity, culminating in Shavasana, where participants recline on their yoga mats to absorb the benefits of their practice. Practicing Hatha Flow enhances strength, flexibility, balance, and concentration.
Yin Yoga is aimed at psychophysical relaxation, allowing you to relax and deeply regenerate the body and mind. Yin Yoga is a simple and slow-paced practice, which acts internally on the body, and in particularly on the connective tissue. This type of practice has numerous benefits: it improves the movements the joints, stimulates the energy flow of the meridians and organs, calms the emotions, and allows body and mind to enter into deep meditation.
Each Asana (position) is held for a few minutes in combination with deep and conscious breath-work. This combination held positions and breathing helps to move the body and mind towards a gradual and slow relaxation, providing nourishment to the deep connective tissues (which envelope the muscles and gives shape to the joint capsules, i.e. the fascia, ligaments, tendons and bones), allowing them to be strengthened and lengthened in a safe and supported way.
Yin Yoga focuses on self-observation and internal listening of your body. When you assume a posture, following your own body’s natural postural alignment, you let go of all distractions and bring your attention to the present moment, without judging, developing the ability to observe movement in non-movement, to perceive the sensations of the body or the emotions that emerge, and to listen to the breath, with the mind and with the heart.
Shri Devi Yoga is inspired by tradition and designed with a focus on the Feminine. It encompasses both dynamic and static sequences, aimed at promoting the well-being of women. Shri Devi Yoga strengthens the body, calms the mind, and significantly enhances inner awareness. By stimulating an internal connection with the Feminine Shakti energy, it incorporates dynamic sequences. The practices of Shri Devi Yoga are distinguished by their beauty and intensity, and they include chants and meditations that facilitate introspection, culminating in a sense of presence.
A sound bath is a guided meditation and relaxation technique that utilizes sound frequencies to induce a state of relaxation and contemplation. The use of sound to generate vibrational energy is an ancient and powerful practice known for promoting physical well-being and mental relaxation. A sound bath session can reduce stress and anxiety, lower blood pressure, facilitate the attainment of a meditative state, and foster deep self-connection.
Typically, a sound bath involves a meditative experience where participants are enveloped in sound waves produced by various sources, including instruments such as gongs, Tibetan bowls, and even the human voice. Unlike conventional music, which features catchy melodies or rhythms, the sounds in a sound bath comprise a carefully selected blend of instruments and voices chosen for their resonance and frequencies.
During a sound bath, participants usually lie down and are guided by a sound practitioner who facilitates the experience. At times, the entire group of participants may contribute through chants and mantras.
Learning to play percussion instruments offers numerous benefits that contribute to overall well-being. It serves as a form of creative expression and can have advantageous effects such as stress relief. Drumming enables individuals to channel their emotions and release tension through rhythm and movement. The repetitive nature of drumming can induce a state of flow, allowing individuals to focus on the present moment and alleviate stress.
Drumming also provides an emotional release, allowing individuals to express and manage emotions effectively, which can lead to a sense of emotional freedom and relief. Furthermore, engagement in drumming can enhance mood by stimulating the release of endorphins, neurotransmitters that promote feelings of pleasure and happiness. This activity can lead to an improved mood and an overall sense of well-being.
Additionally, playing drums stimulates creativity and imagination by encouraging exploration of different rhythms, patterns, and improvisations, thus fostering a sense of creative expression and innovation.
Tribal Belly Dance combines movements and elements from other dances such as Oriental Dance, Flamenco, and Indian Dance. It is performed in groups, using non-verbal body language to ensure synchronized movement within a circle. This dance incorporates ancient movements adapted for contemporary practice, fostering unity among women and promoting the experience of dancing together.
In Tribal Belly Dance, the body serves as the primary tool of expression, utilizing muscles and joints to convey emotion and narrative. Mastery of the Transversal Technique is crucial, providing a foundation in body control, posture, muscle isolation, and fluidity of movement. These skills are applied in both structured choreography and improvisation.
Stylizations enrich Tribal Belly Dance by integrating influences from other traditions, such as the strength and theatricality of Flamenco Fusion, the elegance of Indian Fusion inspired by Odissi or Kathak, the energy of Balkan & Gypsy Fusion, and the retro aesthetics of Vintage styles from the 1920s-40s, creating a dynamic dialogue between past and present.
